I think about 25-30 million would cover everything. Minus a space for all the cars. Don’t quite think that kidney is going to cover that.

Don’t forget to allow something in your organ-selling budget for insurance, air freight to all the interesting events, a full time maintenance guy, an ongoing trickle of unobtainium parts, and the occasional total rebuild when you put one of them into the wall at Goodwood.

How did that C-Type end up in the U.S.? that’s part of Jaguar’s history right there. It’s one of the four C-Types that went around together and one of the three that had sequential licence plate numbers.

Of course. I think the first event would be the Mille Miglia in the ‘64 250 GTL. Or maybe the Idlers 12 hour in the slant nose 911 turbo, 959, or the 930 speedster.

What’s more it’s Stirling Moss’s car, and set the lap record, which makes it the pick of the bunch to me even if it DNF’d.
As to how it wound up in the US - money talks

Mine’s the Alfa 6C for the Mille. If it was good enough for Tazio Nuvolari...
Followed by the Peking to Paris in the 1924 Silver Ghost.

Here are a few of a D-Type here in Brisbane, Aus. This one was driven to a Cars & Coffee on Dealer Plates back in June. (Southern hemisphere winter.)
